Job Description

Our Public Affairs Department provides a full range of proactive communications functions to the Club including the formulation of communications strategy, issue management, racing and non-racing media relations; racing, betting, charity and overall publicity; and organisation of corporate PR programmes and projects.


The Job

You will:

  • devise and implement impactful integrated media communications programmes, to strengthen the Club’s brand image and to achieve KPIs for related business areas
  • maintain excellent relationship with media and opinion formers to maximize the Club's PR mileage for positive news and mitigate potentially negative issues
  • devise media strategies, organize media events, handle media enquiries and other related matters such as development of press releases and media line-to-take
  • identify media sponsorship and partnership opportunities and manage a media audit system to keep track of the effectiveness of media / communications programmes
  • identify external and internal risks and establish issue communications framework for effective risk management
  • assist in managing and coordinating corporate events and develop sound-bites / message handbook for Stewards


About You

You should have:

  • a Bachelor's Degree or above in public relations, communications, journalism or related disciplines / qualifications
  • at least 15 years of relevant working experience in public affairs in large corporations, preferably with at least 8 years at managerial level
  • experience in devising strategies in managing digital / social media platforms as a PA tool
  • sound knowledge about the political environment and current affairs in Hong Kong
  • solid experience in media, KOL and influencer engagement
  • strong media network and ability to engage stakeholders
  • excellent written (in both English and Chinese) and verbal communication skills
  • ability to work independently as well as collaboratively for teamwork
  • Candidate with less experience will be considered for Public Affairs Manager


Terms of Employment

The level of appointment will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A contract employment will be offered to the successful candidate. Contract renewal will be subject to mutual agreement between the Club and the individual.
