Job Description

Department of Education Policy and Leadership

The Department of Education Policy and L
eadership is looking for a qualified and dedicated researcher to support mainly a comparative mixed-method project Policy support for academic development of students from low income families: Cases from Hong Kong, Beijing and Korea. This project is to analyse how students from low SES backgrounds are supported during primary and secondary schooling through policy provision.

appointment will be for an initial period of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal subject to mutual agreement.The appointee will be required to support with any aspect related to the project such as conducting a literature review, working with internal and external research collaborator(s) from the case contexts and other client(s), developing research instruments, administrating data collection and analysis, working with internal and external research collaborator(s) and client(s). The appointee will also engage with knowledge transfer activities, e.g., managing a project website, providing administrative support to scholarly exchange event(s), and perform any other related duties as assigned (e.g., supporting parallel projects).

For the post of Senior Research Assistant, applic
ants should have a Master’s Degree plus one-year post Master’s Degree full-time working experience, or a Doctoral Degree. For the post of Research Assistant I, applicants should have a Bachelor’s Degree preferably with relevant post-qualification full-time working experience or an approved qualification or equivalent standard. They should also have good interpersonal and organisational skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge in policy studies is an advantage.
