KaiOS is a mobile operating system for smart feature phones that stormed the scene to become the 3rd largest mobile OS globally (2nd in India ahead of iOS). We are on 100M+ devices in 100+ countries. We recently closed a Series B funding round with Cathay Innovation, Google and TCL. KaiOS has recently been ranked #11 in Fast Company’s Top 50 Most Innovative Companies of 2020. Hong Kong is home to several core engineering and data teams and a great place for strong motivated individuals to join us on a journey to bring internet to the next billion users. The major topics in the Hong Kong-based teams include backend services for the Kai app store, our own real-time advertising platform and data infrastructure and services for all of KaiOS.
We are looking for a seasoned hands-on Engineering Lead for our Hong Kong core engineering site. The role is in charge of a team of software engineers working on key backend services for the Kai app store and reports to the Director of Engineering for monetization. We are looking for somebody who has previously traveled the journey of building and evolving software systems with methods and sophistication required by our global reach, scale and continued growth.
