Job Description

Job Duties:

Reporting to the Secretary General of the Hong Kong Equestrian Federation, preferably in sports development, client relationship, events management, fund-raising, public relations, and/or communications. They should possess a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including fluency in Mandarin); exceptional organizational and interpersonal skills; and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse individuals, multi-task, work independently within a team, and meet tight deadlines. They should be able to work under high pressure within tight deadlines.

The appointee will liaise and work with various government departments such as Sports Federation of Olympic Committee of Hong Kong, China (SF&OC), Home Affairs Bureau (HAB), Leisure and Cultural Services Department (LCSD) or the Hong Kong Sports Institute (HKSI) for possible support on the promotion, development of equestrian sports in Hong Kong. He/she will also work closely with external parties, such as the Fédération Equestre Internationale (FEI) and the Asian Equestrian Federation (AEF) over sports related issues.

He/she will be responsible for all the bilingual publications of HKEF, develop and organize events and programmes to connect and to establish close relationship with all riding schools in Hong Kong and HKEF members, and assist the Secretary General in executing PR and promotion strategies in support of the Executive Committee’s objectives.

The whole office team will (a) provide quality services to members; (b) organize all HKEF’s events, especially HKEF shows and competitions; (c) develop and expand members’ database; (d) prepare internal and external communications collaterals such as e newsletters, brochures and reports; (e) handle ad hoc projects; and (f) provide other support as required. This position is financially supported by the Leisure and Cultural Services Department.

The appointee is required to work on weekends and public holidays for competitions or other HKEF events. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a written test and an interview.

Requirements:

  • A Diploma from a registered post secondary college issued after the date of its registration/an accredited Associate Degree from a Hong Kong tertiary institution/a Higher Diploma from a polytechnic university or polytechnic in Hong Kong or Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education or equivalent
  • Well-versed with internet and MS Office
  • Experience in a sports federation is preferable
  • Experience with Equestrian Sports would be an advantage
  • Proficiency in Chinese and English, both spoken and written
  • Independent, responsible, self-motivated and able to meet tight deadline and work under pressure
  • Working at weekends / public holidays for horse shows is required
