Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Tax Planning

  • Lead and execute tax planning projects and communicate the tax planning with local finance/tax teams and cross functional departments.
  • Prepare tax budget, and efficiently control taxation based on tax planning.

Tax Compliance

  • Manage tax filings and tax compliance work performed by in-house finance/tax team and 3rd party tax agents. 

Tax Risk Management

  • Identify the weakness of tax internal control, recommend and execute improvements of the tax policies for international operations.
  • Responsible for dealing with major tax disputes and properly settling tax differences and disputes. ;Assess and communicate with the local team on the tax implications of the operational and regulatory changes, recommend and execute action plans to cope with the tax implications.
  • Identify the opportunities / needs for tax automation and drive tax automation process.

 Tax Audit

  • Lead the defense for both direct and indirect tax audits/queries initiated by tax authorities.

 Others

  • Provide guidance and training to local finance/tax team on specific tax issues.
  • Provide guidance to business partners within the Group.
  • Maintain regular contact and relationship with tax agents.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • Working Experience– at least 10 years of relevant tax experience in which not less than 3 years in Group corporate tax management (including Chinese tax, international tax, corporate taxation and transfer pricing), Extensive experience working in a Big 4 professional firm or a large corporation will be advantageous.

  • Degree and Qualification – Bachelor’s degree in finance/accounting, professional tax-qualified.

  • Flexibility – We are a fast-growing and rapidly changing company that requires a high level of flexibility and adaptability.  Business travels to China/ Hong Kong/Asia Pacific region are expected. 
  • Ability to manage external and internal relationships; initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Good business sense, logical thinking and data analysis skills
  • Corporate Culture – ideally, previous experience in Chinese invested enterprise.
  • Fully English/Mandarin bi-lingual - able to communicate effectively
