Job Description

This position ensures compliance with applicable global trade control laws and regulations concerning the movement of items across borders, by analyzing end use and end user data provided by internal Sales and external parties for account setup and transaction processing. This position acts as a liaison among external parties and many internal groups including law, sales, credit, asset management, and operations in an effort to ensure proper adherence to trade control laws and regulations.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In accordance with documented procedures and confirmed processes, analyze information provided by customers, end users, and internal Sales employees regarding customer accounts and individual international transactions.  Frequency: 55%
  • Communicate regularly with Manager and global colleagues to compare analytical results. Provide recommendations for Arrow system, policy, and procedure updates based on findings and trends.  Frequency: 25%
  • In accordance with documented procedures and confirmed processes, provide necessary data and support to GTMC employees relative to individual customers, end users, and international transactions. This includes providing information needed for GTMC (Global Trade Management & Compliance) and other functions to perform audits/assessments of Arrow business processes.  Frequency: 10%
  • Support Arrow’s legal counsel by providing end use & end user documentation and knowledge regarding specific customers, internal Sales, and online & government resources regarding individual customers, end users, and individual export transactions.  Frequency: 1%
  • Provide guidance to Arrow employees on completing and submitting Arrow, vendor and government forms required for account setup and international transactions.  Frequency: 4%
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.  Frequency: 5%

 

AUTONOMY:

Following necessary training on relevant laws, regulations, and Arrow policy, processes and procedures, and skills & judgment assessment by the relevant manager, the position will be responsible for:

  • Analyze information provided by customers, end users, and internal Sales employees regarding customer accounts and individual international transactions; and
  • Provide necessary data and support to GTMC employees relative to individual customers, end users, and international transactions.

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

 

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Proven ability to analyze data and propose recommendations orally and in written form.
  • 2-4 years Microsoft Office suite usage (including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Strong command of the English language – written and spoken.
  • Preferred:
    • Knowledge of Arrow products in order to appropriately analyze customer information and reach final decision.
    • 1+ years electronics industry work experience.
    • 1+ years of trade compliance work experience.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

  • Developed communication and diplomacy skills used to guide, persuade and influence others internally and externally.
