Job Description

As CLM Analytics Manager, you will be part of creating, implementing and driving strategy for Vans’ first CLM function. In this exciting new role, you will drive consumer knowledge by providing relevant and actionable insights from data analysis that shape general consumer understanding and influence merchandising and marketing activities as well as overall Vans brand/consumer strategies.


Additionally, you will have the exposure and ability to operate across a highly-matrix, organization and to establish analytics capabilities by employing creativity, collaboration and story-telling.

Job Responsibilities:

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Perform modelling and analysis of data from a variety of sources, including market
  • Develop insights from consumer data that further the organization’s understanding of who the consumer is, how they interact with the brand and what their motivations are.
  • Leverage segmentation, apply expertise in quantitative analysis and data visualization to facilitate business decision-making for Vans marketing and CLM effectiveness
  • Translate analytics/insights into action, such as marketing personalization, CRM and winning business strategies. Present results/recommendations to senior management.
  • Develop consumer scorecards, KPIs and performance tracking tools for Vans’ internal customers.
  • Collaborate with marketing partners on the planning, execution and evaluation of CLM tests and initiatives.
  • Lead efforts for generation and acquisition of consumer data by working with key organizational partners, such as loyalty, store operations, e-commerce, marketing and event teams.
  • Be Vans’ key counterpart to VF APAC Analytics team, which manages Vans’ consumer database, ETL processes and offers advanced analytics capabilities.
  • Partner with Vans Global CLM Analytics and teams on global consumer insights and advanced modelling projects
  • Collaborate with external partners, such as loyalty vendor or third-party analytics firms.



  • Organize and prepare regular business analysis reports.
  • Host quarterly reviews to share opportunities and learning across the Vans APAC team.


Job Requirements: 

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and /or abilities required for the individual to be successful in this position.               

  • A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, econometrics, applied or behavioral sciences research or related field and a minimum of 3 years’ experience in data analytics or an equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • A history of using consumer data to drive marketing and sales outcomes or consumer
  • Practical experience with any CRM Package.
  • Experience working with large datasets and relational database analytical tools, such as Alteryx, Tableau, JMP or similar. Knowledge of R, Python or SQL. Highly skilled in Excel; proficient with PowerPoint or Keynote. Advanced statistical skills a plus (multi-variate analysis, cluster analysis, text analysis, etc.).
  • Experience working in the retail industry in a role in applied analytics, such as CRM/database, digital/eCommerce, retention/loyalty marketing or quantitative marketing setting.
  • Strong written and verbal skills. Adept in translating data into concise and insightful executive summaries and presentations. Excellent project coordination and management skills.
  • Ability to influence, connect and collaborate with a variety of groups, cultures and personalities.
  • Outdoor/action sports industry preferred.
  • Understanding of the Vans brand, action sports, music, art and street culture a big plus.
  • Language skills: Fluent in English & Mandarin
