JobsDB.com, the region's leading interactive recruitment network, has successfully concluded 1999 with the opening of two offices in India and Indonesia, fulfilling its commitment to have eight Asian sites operational by the end of 1999.
The two new offices have increased the company's network around the region to include Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Taiwan, Hong Kong and now India and Indonesia.
"This caps an exceptional year for us and demonstrates our ability to achieve what we set out to do," said Mr. Samuel Sung, Chairman of JobsDB.com. "We are also on target to open a further five offices by June 2000."
"We are confident that during the next year, we will continue to build upon our existing regional network to further strengthen our presence across Asia, while at the same time expanding into new markets, such as Europe and the United States. We also expect to sign more strategic partnership agreements with key portals, ISPs and telecom companies to consolidate our position as the region's foremost interactive recruitment network," Mr. Sung added.
The new JobsDB.com office in India is based in Chennai and run by General Manager, Dr. Komattu C. John, while the Indonesia office is based in Jakarta and managed by Eddy S. Tjahja.
Although the Internet makes it possible to run an international on-line recruitment business from a single base, JobsDB.com believes that the only way to become truly successful on a regional and international basis is by setting up offices wherever the company operates.
"In order to fully understand the diverse needs and opportunities in each market we must have a physical presence. JobsDB.com is determined to provide the first pan-regional, fully interactive recruitment network without geographic limitations. To this end, we have to build relations with government authorities, local companies, ISPs and major portals to demonstrate our focus and commitment," Mr. Sung added.
Supported by a highly proactive sales force in each operating country, together with seminars and special promotions, JobsDB.com has quickly become one of the leading on-line recruitment sites in the world.
In fact, the service has proved so successful that recruitment agencies also use the extensive database to gain an edge over their competitors. Multinational employers are able to source high-level executives beyond geographical borders.
In Hong Kong, JobsDB.com recently launched its on-line recruitment services with Hutchison and SmarTone as one of their first WAP (wireless application protocol) content providers.
In Singapore, JobsDB.com's co-branded site with Lycos Asia was launched on 22 December, 1999.
