- Assisting in the production and revision of project plans and schedules.
- Gathering required project data and information and preparing relevant reports.
- Monitoring project progress, identifying any issues or delays, and communicating these to the project manager.
- Working with project stakeholders to identify and define project requirements, scope and objectives.
- Ensuring that project tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Participating in team meetings and calls to discuss project details and updates.
How to become an Assistant Project Manager
An Assistant Project Manager supports the Project Manager in planning and executing projects across various industries. While no one degree is specific to this career, a diploma or degree in Project Management or the related industry would be an advantage. Acquiring professional certifications could also increase your chances of getting hired.
- 1.Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2.Experience in project management is a plus -- includes planning, execution, risk management, and change management.
- 3.Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage external vendors.
- 4.Professional certifications, such as Project Manager Certification from the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management or the Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
- 5.Ability to be proactive and self-motivated, with strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills.
