Tasks and duties

• Providing direct, personal care and support to patients in a variety of healthcare settings.
• Observing, monitoring and recording patients’ conditions including their responses to treatment.
• Communicating with patients, their families and other healthcare professionals to share necessary information about the patient’s condition and progress.
• Administering medication and treatments under the supervision of a registered nurse or doctor.
• Assisting with clinical procedures such as wound dressing.
• Implementing plans for health promotion and disease prevention for patients.
• Ensuring the patient’s environment is safe, comfortable and clean.
