Landscape Architect

A Landscape Architect designs outdoor spaces and environments. Their work usually involves planning, designing and managing land areas such as parks, gardens and urban spaces, while considering aesthetic appeal, functionality and environmental sustainability. This profession also requires collaboration with other professionals, like urban planners and civil engineers. Most Landscape Architects work within architectural and engineering services, with some in government sectors or self-employed. Their duties and responsibilities often run from preliminary assessment of potential sites to post-construction evaluation, and everything in between.
