交通銀行始建於1908年，是中國歷史最悠久的銀行之一，也是近代中國的發鈔行之一。1987年4月1日，重新組建後的交通銀行正式對外營業，成為中國第一家全國性的國有股份制商業銀行，總行設在上海。2005年6月交通銀行在香港聯合交易所掛牌上市，2007年5月在上海證券交易所掛牌上市。
