ABOUT THE ROLE

MRDI is inviting a seasoned and high-calibre professional to join the team as (Associate) Equipment Engineer, Dry Etch, responsible for the installation, maintenance, reliability improvement, and continuous optimisation of dry etch equipment to support advanced semiconductor process development and manufacturing operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Hook-up & Startup: Oversee the installation, hook-up, and startup of new Etch equipment, ensuring compliance with cleanroom safety and facility standards.

• Hardware Upgrades: Drive hardware modifications and OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) upgrades to enhance tool capability for advanced nodes.

• Vendor Management: Coordinate with vendor field service engineers (FSE) for advanced technical support, warranty claims, and continuous improvement projects (CIP).

• Standardization: Write, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintenance checklists, and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documentation.

• EHS Compliance: Enforce strict Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) guidelines, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and chemical/gas safety protocols during chamber maintenance.

• Provide administrative support and undertake ad hoc duties as assigned by the supervisor.

REQUIREMNETS

• Bachelor’s degree or above in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, or related disciplines.

• Sound knowledge in semiconductor manufacturing, equipment engineering, or fab operations.

• Experienced with dry etch equipment such as ICP, CCP, RIE, IBE, or equivalent semiconductor processing tools is preferred.

• Familiarity with equipment installation, startup, qualification, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting methodologies.

• Experience in conducting root cause analysis and implementing reliability improvement programmes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and coordination skills.

• Self-motivated, capable of working independently and effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.

• Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua).

WORK LOCATION

Microelectronics Centre at Yuen Long InnoPark (Yuen Long Industrial Estate)

WORKING HOURS

From 08:45 to 17:45 hrs, five-day work week

NOTE

The actual rank and position offered will be commensurate with the applicant's qualifications and experience.

The initial employment contract spans 12 or 24 months and can be renewed with a longer tenure upon mutual agreement of the incumbent and MRDI. The incumbent will normally work five days a week. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A gratuity of 15% of the salary will be awarded upon satisfactory completion of the contract.
