Responsibilities:
- Advise, negotiate, draft, review, and maintain various legal documents in English and Chinese for the Group, including tenancy and employment agreements, NDAs, joint venture agreements, service agreements, sale and purchase agreements, license agreements, franchise agreements and any other legal documents as may be required
- Provide legal and compliance advice to various business units, including coordinating with external counsel where appropriate
- Support internal stakeholders in reviewing internal policies, procedures and templates
- Manage and handle legal matters (both contentious and non-contentious) independently with minimal supervision
- Monitor and analyse changes in the law and legal risks, propose pragmatic solutions to minimize those risks
- Manage trademark portfolio and advise on intellectual property matters
- Support overseas business initiatives, including cross-border commercial ventures, regulatory compliance, intellectual property and personal data protection where needed
Requirements:
- Degree in Law acquired in Hong Kong, a common law jurisdiction, or any related disciplines
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience gained n professional firms and/or in-house legal departments, experience in mass retail or F&B industries is preferred
- Admission as a Hong Kong practicing solicitor is preferred. Candidates qualified in another recognized common law jurisdiction with relevant Hong Kong or regional in-house experience will also be considered
- Experience in handling or supporting cross-border transactions, overseas commercial arrangements or legal matters involving jurisdictions outside Hong Kong, including Mainland China and other APAC markets) Project management experience a plus
- Well-organized, strong attention to details, self-motivated, have a strong sense of responsibility and ability to work both independently and as a team player
- Willingness to learn and adapt and ability to multi-task
- Excellent command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Proficiency in Putonghua is a must)
