(Senior) Project Designer, Exhibitions and Events

As a Project Designer specializing in exhibitions and events, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and overseeing the execution of various projects within the exhibition and event industry. You will collaborate with clients, project managers, and cross-functional teams to create visually compelling and immersive experiences that meet the objectives and requirements of each project. Your role will involve working on a wide range of projects, including trade shows, thematic exhibitions, corporate events, product launches, and experiential marketing campaigns.

1. Conceptualization and Design: 

  • Collaborate with clients to understand their goals, messaging, and target audience.

  • Develop creative concepts and design proposals that align with the project objectives. 

  • Create detailed visual designs, including floor plans, 3D renderings, and mood boards. 

  • Incorporate innovative design elements, technologies, and materials to enhance the overall experience. 

 
2. Project Management: 

  • Work closely with different stakeholders s to establish project timelines, budgets, and deliverables. 

  • Coordinate with internal teams and vendors o ensure seamless execution of the design. 

  • Review and approve design prototypes, samples, and production materials. 

  • Move-in at sites to monitor progress, resolve design-related issues, and ensure adherence to design specifications. 


3. Client Communication: 

  • Present design concepts and proposals to clients, explaining the rationale behind design decisions. 

  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing their questions, concerns, and feedback throughout the project lifecycle. 

  • Provide regular updates on project status, timelines, and budgetary considerations. 


4. Collaboration and Teamwork: 

  • Work collaboratively with team members and follow direction from project leads

  • Contribute ideas and support team success in a fast-paced creative environment

5. Industry Trends and Research: 

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging industry trends, technologies, and best practices. 

  • Conduct research on relevant subject matter, historical contexts, and cultural references to inform the design process. 

Are you ready for the opportunity?

  • Bachelor's degree or HD in Graphics, Exhibition Design, Environmental Design, Interior Design, or a related field.

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and 3D rendering tools. 

  • Strong conceptualization and visualization skills, including the ability to create detailed floor plans, 3D renderings, and mood boards. 

  • Knowledge of construction techniques, materials, lighting, and audio-visual technologies used in the exhibition and event industry. 

  • Excellent project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively articulate design concepts and ideas to clients and team members. 

  • Attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics, ensuring the quality and consistency of the final deliverables. 

  • Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. 

  • Knowledge of accessibility and safety regulations related to exhibition and event design.

  • Hands-on experience in both 2D and 3D design is highly preferred and will be a strong advantage.
