Responsible use of data and artificial intelligence (AI) is central to SEEK’s approach and ensures that data and AI services are not only useful, but also meet community expectations in relation to privacy, ethical considerations and personal control over data.

Responsible AI 

SEEK understands that recruitment is a human-centred process that can be strengthened by the responsible use of AI. We use AI and Machine Learning to deliver more effective and personalised matching of candidates and hirers, powering search, moderating content, and making the hiring experience more transparent, fair and efficient – while upholding privacy and giving people greater control over their data. 

SEEK takes a responsible, risk-based approach to AI development, prioritising user trust through robust AI governance. SEEK's approach to AI innovation and use is guided by four principles - fair opportunity, transparent, safe and accountable - aligned with international standards, including the Australian Government's AI Ethics Framework and OECD AI Principles. SEEK is ISO 42001: Artificial Intelligence Management System certified.

SEEK Pass

SEEK Pass is an online verification platform that enables candidates to securely verify, manage and share work credentials in one digital passport.

Data privacy 

SEEK is committed to being transparent about how personal information is collected, used and protected and to being compliant with all relevant data protection and privacy laws and regulations.

SEEK’s Privacy Policy and Privacy Collection Notice explains how personal information is collected and used and is available on SEEK’s Privacy page. The Privacy page also contains a plain language summary of SEEK’s approach to the protection of candidates’ personal information.

SEEK maintains a privacy programme built on technical controls, internal processes and ongoing improvements to cybersecurity and privacy practices. Privacy impact assessments are embedded across the business to identify, assess and manage privacy risks in projects, applications and process changes - helping protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access.

Cybersecurity 

SEEK invests significantly in cybersecurity through its people, processes and technology and its approach continues to be enhanced through ongoing improvement programs. This includes regular employee security training offensive and defensive security testing and an ongoing public bug bounty program to identify vulnerabilities. SEEK is ISO 27001: Information Security Management Systems certified.
