Head of Baker
As a Baker, you will be a vital member of our kitchen team, responsible for your designated section and contributing to the overall success of our culinary operation. Your duties will include:
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the daily production of a variety of baked goods, ensuring consistency and quality.
Support ingredient preparation, including precise measuring, mixing, and performing basic baking tasks.
Follow all recipes and production instructions provided by the Bakery Supervisor or Senior Baker precisely.
Inspect the visual appeal and taste of all finished products to ensure they meet our high specialty standards before being presented to customers.
Assist in maintaining and ensuring all baking operations comply with company quality, safety, and hygiene requirements and cleanliness standards throughout the production process.
Conduct regular inventory checks; accurately forecast ingredient needs to prevent shortages or overstock, and minimize food waste through efficient utilization.
Ensure all ingredients and finished products are stored at correct temperatures and in appropriate, hygienic conditions.
Perform basic daily maintenance and cleaning of bakery equipment (e.g., ovens, mixers) and report any malfunctions promptly.
Work closely with the front-of-house team and baristas to coordinate the timing of fresh bakes and understand customer feedback. Assist in brainstorming and testing seasonal pastries or new menu items
Requirements:
Minimum 8-10 year of experience in bakery retail, restaurant, or hotel industry.
A diploma or certification in Baking, Pastry Arts, or Culinary Arts is a strong advantage)
Fluent in Cantonese, with basic proficiency in English and Mandarin.
Good communication skills with a strong sense of teamwork and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
A culinary degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
Ability to follow recipes precisely while maintaining speed and efficiency in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail with a focus on the visual presentation and finishing of baked goods.
A team-oriented mindset with a proactive approach to responsibilities, excellent time management, and the ability to meet strict morning production deadlines.
Willingness to work early morning shifts, weekends, and public holidays as required by the business.
Must be eligible to work in Hong Kong.
