Executive Officer (Incubation)

Executive Officer (Incubation) in the Office of the Senior Vice-President (Innovation and Enterprise) [Ref. R/032/26]

The appointee will provide support to the Entrepreneurship Collaboration Team of the Office. The team aims to develop a comprehensive start-up ecosystem in the territory and beyond by proactively exploring and deepening strategic partnerships with diverse stakeholders, including governments, incubators, investors, start-ups, entrepreneurs, industries, institutions, and cross‑border entities.

Duties

  1. Plan, organise, and execute a portfolio of events independently, including competitions, delegations, networking sessions and innovation showcases, in Hong Kong and overseas;

  2. Proactively identify partnership opportunities, develop and manage relationships with stakeholders and maintain ongoing partnerships to support CityUHK’s innovation and enterprise ecosystem;

  3. Provide dedicated incubation support to high-potential portfolio companies in the HK Tech 300 Angel Fund, offering guidance on investor readiness, operational execution, and growth milestones to accelerate their success and enhance overall portfolio performance;

  4. Monitor portfolio company progress, prepare strategic updates and reports to strengthen investor confidence, support follow-on funding efforts for the Angel Fund’s long-term value;

  5. Prepare project updates, reports, meeting materials, proposals, and correspondence related to assigned initiatives and partnerships; and

  6. Perform any other duties as assigned.

Occasional travel outside of Hong Kong is required.

Requirements

  1. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with at least 5 years’ relevant working experience in project coordination, stakeholder engagement, event management roles;

  2. Proven event management skills with experience in delivering professional workshops, seminars, networking events or showcases;

  3. Demonstrated ability to work independently on assignments, manage multiple priorities under tight timelines, take initiative, and deliver high-quality results;

  4. Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua);

  5. Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail and accountability;

  6. Proficiency in MS Office applications and Chinese word-processing;

  7. Track record in start-up incubation, acceleration, or ecosystem development programmes; and

  8. Experience in higher education institutions, particularly Chinese Mainland/overseas-HK operations.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a written test.

Salary and Conditions of Service

Remuneration package will be highly competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract; fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes.
