Legal Counsel (Funds) - Global Financial Services Group

We are looking for a 5PQE+ lawyer to join a leading international financial services company. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to one of the Group's core businesses - asset management - by providing legal expertise across fund regulation, distribution, and administration.

Key Responsibilities

• Regulatory guidance: Advise business units and senior management on legal and compliance issues affecting the launch and daily operation of the fund platform.
• Contract management: Draft, review, and negotiate agreements with fund houses, distributors, custodians, transfer agents, and other service providers.
• Cross‑border compliance: Assess the impact of regional and international regulations on fund distribution and asset management activities.
• Strategic support: Partner with leadership on new initiatives, including expansion opportunities in the region.
• External counsel oversight: Manage law firm relationships and supervise contracts with vendors, IT providers, and regulatory partners.

Candidate Profile

• Hong Kong qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' PQE, ideally with experience in fund distribution, asset management, or related regulatory matters.
• Solid in‑house background within financial institutions, with strong knowledge of distribution channels and compliance.
• Excellent written and spoken English; strong Chinese language skills required, Putonghua preferred.
• Commercially minded, analytical, and confident in advising senior management.
• Team‑oriented yet capable of working independently on complex projects.
