Senior Relationship Manager – Corporate Lending, Trade Finance & Derivatives

A mid-sized, digital-first licensed bank in Hong Kong is expanding its corporate banking platform and hiring a Senior Relationship Manager in Hong Kong.

As a digital‑native institution, with a strong emphasis on technology, ESG, and client‑centric banking. Its Hong Kong branch focuses on cross‑border corporate and selected retail clients.

The role is a pure‑hunter RM / Senior RM position, where you will build a fresh portfolio from new‑client onboarding rather than managing a large legacy book. The platform offers a broad toolkit across trade finance, working capital, corporate lending, transaction banking, and FX/structured products, all supported by a lean, tech‑enabled team.

Key responsibilities

• Originate, onboard, and grow new corporate and commercial banking relationships in Hong Kong, with a strong emphasis on new‑client acquisition.

• Develop business across trade finance, working‑capital solutions, corporate lending, and transaction‑banking services (e.g., cash‑management, FX, FX‑linked structures).

• Identify cross‑sell opportunities across the bank’s product suite, including credit, FX, trade‑related facilities, and structured solutions.

• Prepare credit proposals, lead deal execution, and work with internal stakeholders (credit, operations, products) to structure and close transactions.

• Lead or assist on syndicated‑loan‑type structures and more complex financing where relevant to client needs.

• Maintain a professional, consultative presence with clients and prospects, reflecting the bank’s high‑service, digital‑first positioning and strong ESG‑linked image.

Experience

• 8+ years’ experience in corporate/commercial banking or relationship management, with a demonstrated track record in new‑client acquisition and portfolio building.

• Proven understanding of trade finance, working capital, corporate lending, and transaction‑banking products; experience with syndicated‑loan‑type structures or project‑finance–style deals is a strong plus.

• Comfortable working in a lean, hunter‑driven, tech‑enabled environment where you are expected to build a book quickly and work closely with platform and product teams.

• Excellent interpersonal skills and a client‑centric, consultative approach to relationship management.

• Fluent Cantonese and English; Mandarin is a must.

• Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered for a Relationship Manager title with a clear path to Senior RM.
