- Defining, planning and coordinating all aspects of the project, including setting deadlines, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress.
- Identifying, assessing and mitigating project risks to ensure delivery is on time and within budget.
- Managing communication with all stakeholders including project team members, clients and senior management.
- Ensuring project objectives are aligned with organisational strategies and business goals.
- Planning and managing resources efficiently to maximise productivity.
- Documenting all project stages and updates, and ensuring compliance with project management standards.
How to become a Project Manager
A Project Manager can work in different industries, including IT, construction, healthcare, and finance. While no one degree is specific to this career, a diploma or degree in Project Management or the related industry would be an advantage. Acquiring professional certifications could also increase your chances of getting hired.
- 1.Complete a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- 2.Gain practical experience in project management a plus.
- 3.Strong communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, problem-solving, and time management skills.
- 4.Consider achieving professional certifications, such as Project Manager Certification from the Hong Kong Institute of Project Management or the Project Management Professional Certification from the Project Management Institute.
- 5.Ability to be proactive and self-motivated.
